Brand Development for 5 Points Liquor Lounge in Jacksonville, Florida
Every neighborhood has places that become part of its identity. They are where regulars gather after work, where celebrations happen without over planning, and where the atmosphere feels familiar from the moment you walk in.
When the team behind 5 Points Liquor Lounge set out to create a new bar in the historic 5 Points area of Jacksonville, Florida, the goal was to develop a brand that felt established, relaxed, and full of character from day one.
63 Visual was brought in to create a comprehensive brand identity system inspired by classic dive bars, vintage liquor lounges, old matchbooks, neon signage, and the nostalgic charm of neighborhood bars that feel like they have been around forever.
A Vintage Brand Identity for a Classic Jacksonville Bar
The strategy for 5 Points Liquor Lounge was built around a system of logos that work as one identity. The project called for a complete visual system with multiple layout formats, supporting marks, badges, typography, and graphic elements that could be used across signage, menus, merchandise, social media, apparel, coasters, posters, and environmental graphics. This approach gave the brand a flexible foundation while maintaining a consistent visual personality. Each mark was designed to feel connected to the others while serving a specific purpose in the real world.

Inspired by Matchbooks, Neon Lights, and Old School Liquor Lounges
The design direction drew from vintage hospitality graphics and classic bar culture. Mid-century matchbooks, hand-painted window lettering, old neon signs, cocktail lounge menus, drink coasters, and neighborhood tavern signage all influenced the visual language. The goal was to capture the understated charm of a true dive bar in a way that felt intentional, nostalgic, and timeless. The brand uses simple illustration, bold typography, limited color, and slightly imperfect vintage details to create a relaxed identity with plenty of personality.
Creating a Comprehensive Brand System
For 5 Points Liquor Lounge, 63 Visual developed a family of logo marks and supporting graphics, including horizontal wordmarks, stacked logo variations, circular badge marks, decorative framed layouts, hand-lettered treatments, cocktail illustrations, tagline graphics, and location-based lockups. This type of brand system allows the identity to work across many different formats without feeling repetitive. A circular badge can be used on a coaster or sticker. A wide wordmark can work on signage. A decorative framed layout can become a poster, shirt graphic, or menu cover. Smaller supporting marks can be used for social media, interior details, or promotional items.

Designing for Real Hospitality Applications
Hospitality branding has to work in a physical environment. It needs to hold up on menus, windows, uniforms, signage, coolers, bar backs, glassware, merchandise, and social content. Because of that, every element of the 5 Points Liquor Lounge identity was created with practical use in mind. The graphics are bold, legible, and adaptable. The system is detailed enough to feel rich and branded, but simple enough to reproduce across a wide range of materials.
Cooler Graphics and Environmental Branding
One of the standout applications of the brand system is the freezer martini cooler design. Rather than simply placing a logo on the cooler, the design turns the cooler into a branded focal point inside the bar. The cooler graphics include vintage-style typography, decorative borders, cocktail illustration, pricing callouts, product branding, and supporting visual elements from the broader 5 Points Liquor Lounge identity system. This type of environmental graphic helps extend the brand into the customer experience and makes the physical space feel more complete, memorable, and intentional.
Built by Jacksonville Hospitality Veterans
5 Points Liquor Lounge is brought to you by the same talented group behind several well-known Jacksonville concepts, including Pete’s Bar, Kicker’s Saloon, Mango’s Beach Bar, Birdies, and many more. That background played an important role in the creative direction. The brand needed to feel authentic to Jacksonville bar culture while bringing a new personality to the 5 Points neighborhood.
