Welcoming Sparrow Salon to the Jacksonville Beaches Community

One of our recent branding projects checked all those boxes, and we’re proud to introduce it here: a custom logo and identity package for Sparrow Salon, located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
From the moment we connected with the Sparrow team, we knew this would be a special collaboration. Their vision for the salon was grounded in craftsmanship, personality, and timeless style — and they wanted a brand identity that reflected all of that. Our job was to help tell their story through design, and we were more than happy to bring that to life.
A New Chapter for Personal Care in Ponte Vedra Beach
Sparrow Salon is a new boutique salon offering high-end hair care and personal grooming services in the Ponte Vedra Beach area. Their mission goes beyond just great cuts and color — it’s about creating a warm, welcoming space where clients feel comfortable, seen, and stylish.
As they were getting ready to open their doors, they came to 63 Visual for a complete brand identity package that would communicate their unique personality and set them apart from the usual salon aesthetic. The goal? Something elegant yet approachable. Classic, but with a fresh coastal twist. Something that would look just as beautiful on a storefront sign as it would on a business card, social feed, or branded product line.
The Design Challenge: Rustic Meets Modern
During our initial discovery phase, the Sparrow team shared their vision for the space: a thoughtful interior filled with natural textures, wood tones, soft neutrals, and coastal accents. They were drawn to aesthetics that felt slightly rustic and traditional, but still clean and modern. Think Key West meets Scandinavian minimalism — not overly trendy, but timeless, calm, and confident.
With that direction in mind, we knew we needed to design a logo system that felt rooted in place and personality. That meant a strong balance between custom illustration and clean, modern typography — something that could stand on its own, while also being flexible enough to carry across all their branded materials.
The Logo: A Sea Sparrow With Story
At the heart of the brand is the sparrow itself — a bird often associated with freedom, resilience, and care. But not just any sparrow. We drew inspiration specifically from the Key West Sea Sparrow, a small coastal bird known for its subtle beauty and quiet confidence. That symbolism aligned perfectly with the values of the salon: attention to detail, personal connection, and understated elegance.
The primary logo is a custom, hand-drawn sparrow perched with poise and purpose — a nod to both nature and nurture. We kept the illustration refined and minimal, avoiding anything overly ornate. The result is a versatile mark that works beautifully in both small applications (think product labels and social media icons) and larger formats like signage or merchandise.
The sparrow illustration is paired with a modern, geometric sans serif wordmark that gives the brand a contemporary edge. The typography is clean and confident, providing a nice visual counterpoint to the softness of the illustrated mark.
Together, these elements form a brand identity that feels personal, professional, and polished — just like the salon itself.
Supporting Elements: Color Palette and Interior Integration
Beyond the logo, we also developed a complementary color palette designed to support both the physical interior design of the space and the brand’s digital presence.
Rather than lean into typical beauty industry tropes like pinks, blacks, or metallics, we built a palette inspired by natural materials and soft coastal tones — think warm beiges, driftwood grays, sunwashed whites, and cool sage greens. These colors not only support the rustic-modern feel but also help establish a calm, elevated mood across all brand touchpoints.
This palette was designed with interior finishes, signage, packaging, and marketing materials in mind. Whether it’s the paint on the wall, a printed gift card, or the way their Instagram feed flows, the visual identity is cohesive and refined.
